HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.
– GARS will only be operating on January 24th from 8AM (set up starting at 7AM) due to site closing at night.
– Since cell service may be spotty at best and mostly unavailable, we’ll be monitoring 146.580 (no CTCSS).
– For Winter Field Day 2026, the operational period starts at 1100 UTC (0800 PST) on Saturday, January 24th.
– Clean up, late evening Saturday January 24th.
– Internet access and WiFi calling will be available.****
– Station setups and antenna designs to follow.****
– If you plan to bring radio gear, please check in with frequency coordinator Jeremie (W6LND) so we can arrange proper filters.

WHERE IS BLACK BUTTE LAKE RECREATION AREA? MAP LINK
– From Willows, take I-5 North toward Redding. Follow for 15.5 Miles.
– Take exit 619 for CA-32 toward Orland/Chico.
– Turn left onto CA-32 West. CA-32 becomes Newville Rd, follow for 5.2 Miles.
– Turn left on CO Rd 206. Follow for 2.9 Miles.
-Turn left on Co Rd 200A. Follow for 2.6 Miles
